      Hey everyone,
I’m looking into some book publishing services but noticed they offer different royalty splits. Some take a cut, some don’t, depending on the platform and service level. Can someone explain how these splits usually work? For example, if I publish through Amazon KDP on my own vs. through a service—how much do I actually keep? Also, are there any publishing services that let you keep 100% of royalties while still helping with everything else?

Would love a breakdown of what’s fair vs. predatory.

Absolutely, publishing services can definitely influence royalties. I learned that the hard way when I self-published a book based on my father’s wartime journals. Initially, I went with a package deal that took a surprising percentage of my earnings. Later, when I decided to write my own life story, I did things differently. I worked with memoir ghostwriting services who not only helped craft a compelling narrative but also advised me on publishing options that protected my royalties. It was a much better experience the second time around.

If you’re managing or publishing any kind of physical workspace or commercial property, it’s also worth remembering that compliance costs can add up beyond publishing or business services. For example, in London, having a valid Fire Risk Assessment London is a legal requirement for many premises and can affect insurance and liability. Just like with publishing services, transparency matters — whether it’s royalty splits or safety compliance, always know what you’re responsible for and who actually controls the process.

Visionary believers need to lead through their faith and their courage and their God-driven purpose. Christian leadership provides a completely different leadership model because it requires leaders to practice humility and wisdom and love, which contrasts with the common practice of power-based leadership. Life changing Christian leadership books provide timeless guidance for those who want to influence others while remaining anchored in biblical truth.

Eventually, Michael secured a stable job one that was even better suited for him than his previous position. Looking back, he realized that God had been providing all along, often through the kindness and generosity of others. Stories like Michael’s remind us that God’s provision does not always come in dramatic or immediate ways. Sometimes, it is found in daily bread, in community support, and in unexpected acts of kindness.
