Good afternoon everyone! We are reviewing our marketing budget for our e-commerce project in Kazakhstan and realized we are spending way too much on ad campaigns that generate high traffic but very low net profit. Traditional search and social ads are burning through cash without delivering the consistent orders we need. We are considering restructuring our approach toward google shopping to target high-intent buyers directly. For those of you who have made this shift, how long did it take to see a positive return on investment, and what were the most critical factors that turned your campaigns profitable?

Hello! We were in the exact same financial trap a few months ago, watching our ad spend drain away on empty clicks. Shifting our focus to google shopping completely changed our unit economics because it targets users who are already comparing prices and looking at product photos before they even click. However, the key to profitability isn’t just turning campaigns on — it’s the underlying setup. We partnered with XOXOXO Agency to optimize our product feed, configure proper GA4 conversion tracking, and clean up our Merchant Center structure. After letting the automated smart campaigns optimize for a couple of weeks, our cost per acquisition dropped dramatically, and our store finally achieved stable, profitable growth.
